Cauldron and Activision team up to bring out a game during a history-making time in the United States. 2008 will go down in the history books with the Obama family, but will Secret Service the game join them. With the dark glasses on, and the ear piece in, its time to protect the Potus (the codename for the president).
The Secret Service’s primary mission of protecting the president didn’t come about until 1901, after the assassination of President William McKinley. Luckily this title takes place a little closer to the present. Make your decision on difficultly (recruit, agent, and Potus detail) to start your service. As Special Agent Pierce, it’s your job to protect the president on inauguration day. As you walk with the detail in front of the Lincoln Memorial you hear the words you hoped to never hear. The president has been hit, and you’re under attack from an extremist group. A couple of agents take the president into a nearby room, as you take cover behind the columns of the memorial to return fire. You would think that on inauguration day there would be a few more armed agents around, but hey it is a video game.
In fact this is where things start to go downhill, both in the game and my opinion of the game. You will face many armed extremist running towards you and your presidential detail. The extremists take very little cover, and more often than not run right to where you are. Ok, back to the story line. Once you clear the way for evacuating the president, a Black Hawk helicopter is called in. As it approaches to land, it takes an RPG and comes crashing down. Man, things keep getting worse. The President is hit, Extremist all around, and now your exit has just made a awful mess in front of the Lincoln Memorial.
