Obsessed about investigation, capturing and killing unwitting victims? Don’t worry, they have it coming. Dexter, the beloved and heinous hero of the Showtime television series with the same name is hitting the iPhone, with a 10-12 hour campaign and plenty of investigating, capturing and killing.
Those familiar with the show know that it’s about Dexter, a maliciously haunted young man who has a taste for blood, but the decency to only take life when the victim is no real victim at all. They all deserve it, and we know this for certain by various investigations Dexter undertakes, either alone or in his workplace, the Miami Police, homicide division. As a blood splatter specialist, and the adopted son of a police officer, Dexter knows the ins and outs of Miami’s world of crime, murder and how to get away with it all.

Dexter: The Game follows the story of the first season, which is, for all intents and purposes, about the Ice Truck Killer, a serial killer who Dexter finds as mysterious as he is elusive. I won’t spoil the already two-year-old tale for those unfamiliar with the show, but an intriguing story it is. The game takes place during these events, where ultimately the main goal is, undoubtedly, to find and kill the Ice Truck Killer. Let’s just say that heads will roll.
Knowing all this, there’s one diabolically simple question to ask: why the iPhone? Seems like a more effective game could be made for a home console, or perhaps the PSP or DS. Consider the controls: similar to Resident Evil: Degeneration, a left virtual analog stick controls movement and the right to turn, and action buttons when the available action becomes available.
