Realview V-Screen for PSP Review

Posted by Christophor Rick (TheSuperGuido), 201 days ago

The V-Screen is a big plastic case that you drop your PSP into which is supposed to give you in-depth and vivid 3D gameplay. But what it really does is doubles the bulk of your PSP, adds very little to the gameplay and might even give you a headache.

First of all, the PSP is slim and fits into many pockets in jackets, bags and even pants. The V-Screen is so large that it almost requires its own backpack. Alright, that is a bit of an exaggeration, but not much. To accommodate the lens and a holder for the PSP the unit is 3 times as high as my PSP-2000 and about an inch longer. Realview V-Screen

Second, it just doesn’t work. I was using several games to test (Armored Core 3 Portable, Valhalla Knights 2, Creature Defense) and really it just gave me a headache. There was no in-depth anything. All the V-Screen is, is one of those old Gameboy magnifiers, but for the PSP.

There is no merit to any of this and there’s no reason for you to put money into this. The lens, with they tout as ’unique optical technology’ looks to be nothing more than a concave magnifying lens. In fact it’s not really concave but a concave-convex composite. What it reminds me of is my grandmother’s reading glasses and when I tested it with a book, it did in fact magnify the text quite efficiently.

This is another case of a company making something that sounds fancy but doesn’t do gamers a lick of good. In fact, it will probably prove harmful as it gave me a splitting headache after only a few minutes of use. I cannot recommend that any of you actually consider purchasing this product for any reason. It does not help your gameplay experience and could probably hinder it.

Overall
This device will not enhance your gameplay, might detract from it and could give you a headache. I would stay away from it.
