With a name like Pinch, to say I was skeptical at first would be an understatement. But it has nothing to do with pinching the fleshy parts of people and is in fact a sturdy little puzzle game.
In Pinch you’ve got colored Norbs (nanobot orbs) that have the uncanny ability to merge and split and even change color. You can do all sorts of things with the Norbs like have them run over switches and unlock pals, but the ultimate goal is to get them all to safety.
How you do that is by dragging them around to solve the puzzles of each level which generally include switches, doors, pits and one-way passages. The gameplay is pretty easy to catch onto and there’s a very in-depth set of tutorial levels (12). After that you’ve got another 48 levels ranging from Easy to to Harder in 12 level increments.
Given that you’ve already been introduced to all of the game’s mechanics during the tutorial lessons you shouldn’t be surprised when you come across some things in the later levels. All levels are scored in percentage of Norbs saved and time. A level can range from ten seconds to well over a minute. I imagine the ’harder’ levels might even take a bit more.
I didn’t even run into a level I had to restart until level 27 which is the third medium level, so it’s not too easy or too difficult. Plus it looks like it will be a good few hours of play time overall (I was worried it might be too short).
