Perfect World Entertainment was kind enough to round up a host of information about their new update/expansion to Perfect World International,
Genesis.
Q1. How does this expansion fit in with the overall background story?
A1. Genesis is set in the aftermath of the fulfillment of the Pan Gu prophecy, which foretold the end of Perfect World. As a result, a new race called the Earthguard has emerged from beneath the ground to help their fellow denizens to rebuild the world.
Q2. What features are included in the upcoming expansion?
A2. Genesis introduces the new Earthguard race with two new classes, guild bases and four new territories to the Territory War system.
Q3. Will this expansion impact the entire game or just the new race?
A3. For the most part, other races and starting zones won’t be affected; however players will be able to choose the new Earthguard race and they will have their own new starting zone. The big change is that we’ll be resetting the Territory Wars system, which means that all territories, including the four new ones, will be up for grabs to any guild.

Q4. How was the expansion name chosen?
A4. Originally the Perfect World International expansion was named 2012 in China; however we really wanted to put the emphasis that this is a new beginning for both old and new players alike. We tried a lot of names at the time. Apocalypse, Rebirth and when Genesis came up, it really felt right for the game.
