Enigmo Review (PS Mini)

Enigmo, from Beatshapers, is an interesting puzzle game that requires you to guide drops of liquid from their starting point, through various gates and devices and to their final destination, which is a vat or urn. The very first thing I would tell you to do is turn off the sound because the incessant sound of the drops hitting things may drive you mad. Since you are afforded no The game offers some rapidly increasing difficulty in regards to puzzles and will probably tend to frustrate you as there is absolutely no sort of tutorial to get accustomed to the controls or the items you are able to use to solve the puzzles. You have to actually go into the help and hunt down any information you might like and then later, if you forget, for example, which colored bumper is the super and which is normal, you will again have to go into the help as there is no indication in the game itself.
The game gives you a quick fly through of the level and during each you can also take another look around plus you can zoom the camera in and out. So there is no problem in seeing the level and where the drops need to go. Nor is there any difficulty in placing the pieces nor moving them. However, sometimes a level is so big that you can’t quite see where the drops go after hitting a super bumper. Also because of the counter-intuitive way of selecting items I would often move a piece when I did not want to move it causing me to lose time (which is how you score points in the game) and forcing me to reset a delicately positioned piece. An undo would have been a brilliant and logical addition to the game and yet is totally absent.
Still, simply stepping away from the game and going back to it a bit later gives you a good way of reseting your approach to each level as some are rather difficult and really require you to think clearly. That is the main reason for turning off the sound because it gets extremely annoying, extremely fast. |

| Our Rating for Enigmo Review (PS Mini) | |
| 5.5 | Replay Going through the levels once feels like enough and there’s no real reason to go back except to improve your own score. |
| 8.0 | Graphics Not amazing but good for what it is which is a 2.5D puzzle game. |
| 5.0 | Sound Some of the most annoying sounds ever in a game. It’s like they have never heard of Chinese (or Spanish) water torture which is exactly what this feels like until you turn the sound off. Drop sounds slowly driving you mad. |
| 8.5 | Gameplay The scoring seems totally useless and is only a mark of how good you are against an imaginary set of scores to determine if you are a master. The gameplay itself is pretty cool with the tools slinging drops across the screen to find their destination being more fun than I imagined. |

Overall The game gets a Silver, even with the lack or desire to replay the levels and the horribly annoying sound. It’s still an interesting and well-made puzzle game when you get past the minor flaws and annoyances. |

control over the sound itself you will be forced to turn the volume down on the PSP or PS3.
