Chris` Top (e)Three Games from E3 2011

Posted by , 349 days ago

E3 was a mad dash from meeting to meeting. Luckily, each meeting was filled with tons of great information about upcoming games and gear. I am only going to cover my top three games in GDN Top eThree games of E3 2011this article and will do the top three gaming gear pieces in another. I think I know what those will be. I only included games that I hadn’t had a chance to see or play at a show prior to this E3. That was easy enough since the last show I went to was GamesCom in August last year.

So without further ado, the Top (e)Three games of E3 2011.

#3 Blacklight Retribution (Zombie and Perfect World)

Zombie Studios is on the right track. I commented that the game even made me look good as I came in something like 8 kills and 6 deaths. But that’s not really why I like the game. The fast-paced action and teamplay dynamics really were Blacklight Retributionawesome. Luckily, Mike was on my team or his character "ChrisSucks" would have simply been chasing me down endlessly.

The addition of the HARD suits, or mechs, really changes things and since we didn’t have headsets with chat I just took up a support role while Mike was in the suit yelling over things like "enemies right" or "through the tunnel" mostly because I had the HRV and in the HARD suit you don’t.

That was one of the great things about the game, the teamwork that was needed. Plus, I got to play with a really cool flamethrower and I saw two team members fire rocket launchers simultaneously at a HARD suit that went BOOM!

This is a first-person shooter that could make me a fan of first person shooters all over again.
