Optoma GameTime 750 DLP Projector Review (Electronics)

Posted by Christophor Rick (TheSuperGuido), 85 days ago

I saw the Optoma GameTime 750 DLP Projector when I was at E3 and it was pretty cool. They were playing Killzone 3, in 3D and I was amazed at how clear it was when playing. Now I’ve got one here in the office and I was so pleased with its performance, I bought it from Optoma.

The Optoma GameTime 750 runs for around $799.99 and considering the price of some other projectors out there that don’t perform as well. For under $1,000 Optoma gives you a full HD projector with 3,000 lumens in brightness and 3D capability. The bulb is said to last from 3,000 to 4,000 hours (8 hours a day for a year or roughly two hours a day for around five years). Replacement bulbs run in the $250-300 range.

Our Rating for Optoma GameTime 750 DLP Projector Review (Electronics)
This category is more for gaming hardware so we will call it aesthetics. The low weight and size along with the shiny black finish mean it will fit into almost any home. While you might have to find a way to fit it into your system, when you do, you will be extremely pleased. The 3D glasses could really use some design aesthetics and some comfortable pads for the nose and ears.
As I said in the review, no matter if it is 2D or 3D, gaming, or film, this projector can do it all and do it quite well. I have yet to find a single thing that I donít like about the picture it produces and with the good range of inputs, it handles all the electronics I have got.
Again, it is under $1,000 and that is amazing. With full 720p and 3D I cannot understand how they managed it. If you spend the extra money on a screen it will really shine. Unfortunately, itís not full 1080p output, as 720p is max output resolution.
If you are a hardcore gamer and want to game big in 2D and 3D with full 720p HD quality output, then this is the piece of tech that you need, hands down, bar none. Plus you can make a projector screen for under $100 so all told, $900 and you will not regret it. Start saving now!
