When I first saw the case of the game I thought "Dude, this looks really great." But ’great’ is not the word that best describes the game from my point of view - that would be ’mediocre’. I’m not saying it’s all bad but my expectations (strongly subjective) were much bigger.
The principle of the game is to be the best (what a surprise) and win every race to be able to challenge the master - Matt Peacock. At the beginning you are given a choice between two crappy cars that are slow and difficult to handle. When I played the game for some time and still wasn’t able to win even my first race because of the car crashed into a tree on the finish line, I got really frustrated and stopped playing. And my next tries were not much different and to be honest I kept coming back to the game just because of the review. Later when I started winning, this feeling disappeared and I quite enjoy playing the game. But more about this later.

The first disappointment came when I realised that there is no free-ride mode round the city - just stakes-free race on a random circuit picked by the computer. There’s only one way to improve your car - and that is to win. You start your racing on a place called ’Cool Market’ where you stand with your car on a zebra crossing waiting for your opponents to come. You can’t move or anything, just wait. Various racers come to challenge you (some of the higher prestige guys will just laugh in your face and drive away) for a set circuit and you can bet your car parts - but again at first stage you can’t choose which part you want to put at risk of losing. (At stages 2 and higher you get an option of racing for up to 3 parts in one race.)

When you win the 2-car race you get your opponent’s car part, when you lose - he/she gets yours. You don’t earn any money for which you could buy some of the tuned parts. Which also means that you can race for a sticker that goes off again once you lose it in the next race. In the later stages you can win paint and change the color of your car. When you have no special part, you bet your ranking which you improve once again by racing. You start at no. 60 and must get to no.2 to race Mr Peacock... There are 4 stages - 4 places where you can wait for your opponents: ’Cool Market’, ’Peninsula Shops’, ’Hyper Center Supermarket’ and ’Village Motel’.
Since it is a racing game, you would expect more kinds of races, right? All the races in the game are of the same type - circuit. So if you like drag or drift races, you won’t find them here.
