Search and find style games are becoming more popular, which is forcing more developers to find the right edge they need to be different. MumboJumbo has stepped up to the plate by creating more of an adventure style to this

genre. Once again Midnight Mysteries creates another exciting tale in Haunted Houdini. From Houdini’s tricks, to ghosts, and even a hell-hound, Haunted Houdini gives you enough entertainment right to the very end.
Story & Gameplay
Most games in this genre simply don’t have stories, but Haunted Houdini relives the past of Houdini’s death and how his beloved wife Bess was never able to reach him in the afterlife, before or after her own death. Various spirits, good and bad, in Houdini’s past play a part in your role to help Bess investigate Houdini’s death and if he was murdered! Bess needs your help to find out what really happened to her one true love, so he can be put to rest and they can finally be reunited.

The gameplay is basically the same for most search and find games, but the biggest difference I find is being able to move freely between various screens. The game feels freer and creates the adventurous atmosphere I have been praising. I compare it to “The Tiny Bang Story” in originality, but the addition of the story makes it really exceptional and easy to follow. Even in the sections focused more on the find and click aspect of the game, they add a twist. You are given a list of things to find and some can be special items highlighted in green or blue. Blue items can be found within other objects, while the green items or hidden in the form of a riddle, like “face hair” to find a fake moustache. A big plus also is the soundtracks throughout the game. In a game where you stare at the same screen for a long period of time, you need something bearable to listen too. There is nothing that kills a game quicker than some bad or misplaced music, but Haunted Houdini delivers some great sound effects and soundtracks to tingle the ears. They really worked hard to find different ways to enjoy this game.
