Bionic Commando: Rearmed Review
Posted by Jereme Mr. Evil Puik, 82 days ago Nov 21, 2008

‘Summer of the Arcade’ has been blessed with a few classics that make the overall end to the summer worth it for gamers before the holiday season is upon us and our wallets start crying. Capcom took the task of remaking an old classic from the NES days, Bionic Commando. Aptly named; Bionic Commando: Rearmed, this Live Arcade release sees this old classic reborn and updated for a new generation.

The classic feel of the game might bring back memories to some who might’ve played the original. I personally didn’t have any previous experience with Bionic Commando, but we are not here to reminisce on those days, unfortunately.  Bionic Commando: Rearmed feels just like a remake and a sequel all at the same time, so don’t get too flustered when purchasing this, it is certainly a fun time but a challenging time as well.

First stepping into the Bionic Commando world, it would do you good to check out both the Advanced and Basic tutorials. These tutorials will give you a pretty good idea of how to maneuver through the game. Gameplay is pretty simplistic in this regard. You only own two items; a weapon and your grapple hook.

Our Rating for Bionic Commando: Rearmed Review
7.5
Replay
Because of the difficulty of the game overall, it might be hard for some gamers to return.
8.0
Graphics
A fresh look gives this classic new life in the next-generation. 3d animation works almost flawlessly on the 2d plane.
8.0
Sound
Simple sound effects give the game a more distinct nature. Its overall sounds might bring back memories from the NES days.
7.0
Gameplay
It might be difficult for some gamers to grasp a hold of. The grapple hook takes a while to get used too and to master the many challenges it presents through each level.
8.0
Multiplayer
Found it to be very addicting at times and can be either frustrating or exciting as every gamer is different.
7.9
Overall
Bionic Commando Rearmed is fun and great for a gamer looking for a challenge. If you’re new to the series, you won’t go wrong checking this out. The difficulty might stray some away, but it gets better over time.
