An RTS on a console? No joke! This game is seriously cool and seriously well made. I was trying to figure out how one might make a viable interface for an RTS with just a gamepad. Well the cats over at Ubisoft Shanghai know the score and simply took the gamepad out of the equation for the most part and replaced it with your voice. Creative director Michael de Plater (Rome: Total War) gave us a run through of the game at Leipzig the other week.
If you have been living in a box with no internet for some time Tom Clancy’s End War lets you experience World War III in your living room. The title is a revolutionary new war game built to maximize next-generation gaming consoles and is completely controllable by voice. Not only does the voice command get rid of the interface problem it just makes the whole game that much cooler.

The graphics on this game are not the most amazing I have ever seen in a game and simply put, it doesn’t matter. The game looks good and plays well and the whole voice command thing really makes you feel like you’re actually controlling an army. Pushing buttons and clicking mice are fine but there was always a logic disconnect from the control scheme to the content of the game. This has simply been removed.
