Build in Time Review
Posted by Anthony Guiliani, 78 days ago Nov 21, 2008

This game literally redefined the meaning of, “bring your work home with you”, at least for me anyways.  I work as a Project Engineer in a Construction Management firm.  This game couldn’t have been more up my alley than actually sitting down at work!  And on the plus side, it was even fun to play.  This game is much like Sim Tower, in that it is a game in which you build houses as fast and you can to not upset your customers.

The game has its ups, and its downs.  It starts off relatively easy, which helps you acclimate to the process of unit scheduling and building.  As the game progresses, levels get harder and harder, as well as the single achievements you need to obtain stars (which unlock objects that help you along the way).

Calls from buyers start coming in faster and customer’s patience grow weary by the minute as the levels increase.  I highly recommend buying a secretary and deliverer as soon as you can.  They make the game a lot easier.  Make sure to spend your money wisely though, because if you get all stars in the decade 2000 then you get a special ending.

There are also additional puzzles to the game you can do for added difficulty.  This is where real time strategy and planning come into play.  If you can line up three houses of the same color or model, you will get click assist, which helps you build at a very rapid pace.  It’s tempting to utilize click assist, but keep in mind, that it is still more productive to be running two crews at the same time, than one at a faster speed.

6.5
Replay
There really is no need to replay this game. With the exception of going back to earn stars you missed in previous levels. There are no new characters to play as and no new additions to make a difference
7.0
Graphics
Nothing too special for graphics in this game. They are on par with games from the late 90’s. But the computer graphics are nothing to ogle at.
7.0
Sound
The sounds in the game are sometimes quite amusing. But the repetitiveness of the music and the rendition of what seems to be “smells like teen spirit” gets a little boring after the first few levels of each decade.
8.5
Gameplay
This game was fun to play. As you move from decade to decade, things speed up and become more of a challenge. Levels start to get a little boring as you get further and further into a decade, but take a change of pace every ten years when you cross the

Overall
But it doesn’t seem to hold its own in the new age of computer graphics and animation. It’s a simple and fun game to play. Nothing too special to play over and over to try different strategies though. It’s a good
