Amy Reviews: Bipo and the Mystery of the Red Panda
Posted by Amy ShortZ Baldry, 38 days ago Nov 21, 2008

Bipo the Red Panda is left on his own after his grandfather, who was looking after him, decided to sail away in search on bipo’s grandmother. Bipo is left to earn his own living and look after himself and this is where we come into the story.

Upon the grandfathers departure you have to guide Bipo around the map to the various places to find work, as the bakery was the closest it was the first spot I took Bipo to look for work, this is where the adventure begins, my task should I choose to accept it (not that I really got a choice) was to go find a rare bird in a sea cave for the cupcake baker. Even if you don’t begin your adventure straight away you have to still find ways of making money. I found speaking to the chap in the grocery store quite helpful on money making tips and fishing a great way of making oolings (Bipo’s currency).

So off I trundled to the sea cave where I found my towhee but I had to follow the bird deeper into the cave along the icy set routes because it seems my panda has very slippery feet. I eventually catch up with the animal but just as I capture the bird a hooded sorcerer appears and steals the bird from me leaving a mysterious necklace behind which is found to have a powerful use later on in the game, this then persuades me to find other work and getting a job as a photographer which leads me to the mansion where the story continues.

Our Rating for Amy Reviews: Bipo and the Mystery of the Red Panda
6.4
Replay
The story’s good and keeps you thinking and wondering what or where you could be next and you find yourself refusing to be beaten by the puzzles.
6.5
Graphics
The graphics are very basic although there is a lot of color and a lot of attention to minor detail. They could have done a little more.
2.5
Sound
I found this really repetitive and annoying had to turn the sound down in the end. That means it’s bad.
6.7
Gameplay
Gameplay was very basic but certainly didn’t need to be anymore complicated it’s easy to guide Bipo around and complete various puzzles to help on your adventure
0.1
Multiplayer

7.5
Overall
I quite enjoyed playing this game, although things seemed very basic and retro it didn’t disappoint with the challenges along the way, I anticipate the sequel which will hopefully improve upon this one.
