Verbatim Rapier V1 Review

Posted by Christophor Rick, 352 days ago

Rapier V1 Laser Gaming Mouse

Product Number: 49051
Dimensions: 118mm x 72mm x 44mm (L x W x H)
Product Weight: 162 grams

Verbatim has begun making gaming mice entering into what is an already crowded market. Their first offering the Rapier V1 laser gaming mouse is in my hand at present.

The Rapier V1 features a weight system and comes pre-loaded with five 4.5g weights that you can remove by opening the panel at the bottom of the mouse. Additional features include nine buttons, seven of which are programmable, adjustable dpi (800-3200), three group macro settings which are stored on the mouse and taken with you wherever you take the mouse. It’s got a gold plated USB connector which helps to reach the 7800 FPS rate and 65 inches-per-second tracking speed.

Now with all of this at hand the Rapier V1 should be a great gaming mouse, yet in some respects with all its high-tech wizardry it still misses the mark. First of all the mouse is shorter than most other gaming mice (for example the Cyber Snipa SWAT a half-inch longer) and it’s slimmer than most other meaning that someone with even medium-sized hands, like myself, will have their fingers hanging over the front end of it. It feels small in the hand and even with the 22.5g of weight in it the Rapier V1 feels light.

Our Rating for Verbatim Rapier V1 Review
7.0
Feel
A little small for average hands, mild discomfort due to size. Fairly light even with all the weights in place.
7.5
Usability
Weight seems too light even when fully loaded. Some buttons hard to use due to placement.
7.5
Overall
Not a bad price for a gaming mouse. Definitely a good buy for those gamers (children or women especially) who’ve got smaller hands
