Elven Legacy Preview (PC)

Posted by Alex Element457 Ramirez,

Normally, young development studios’ lack of experience is evident from even the earliest of stages, but every once in a while a new developer emerges who seemingly knows exactly how to handle all the rookie problems. Similar to how Matt Ryan played for the Atlanta Falcons this year for all you football junkies. Like Matt Ryan, 1C:Ino-Co seems to know exactly how to avoid all the pitfalls that come with being a new studio most likely from working on Fantasy Wars. More importantly, they know what it takes to make a fun game. While we didn’t have access to the entire game, we did have a fairly lengthy preview that gave us the impression the game is nearing completion.

Elven Legacy (site), unlike many traditional RTS’s, is attempting to break from the pack by combining the micro-management of an RTS with the combat and turn-based antics of a game like Fire Emblem. While Elven Legacy does certainly resemble Fire Emblem more so than a traditional RTS, there is no denying that the game has drawn some inspirations from titles like Warcraft III.  The lore of the story may be overused a bit in games nowadays, but 1C:Ino-Co has done a surprisingly great job of really fleshing out the story and making it into their own.
