ou won’t be limited to just swordfighting, despite the game’s name. While Aya brings the titular bikini and samurai sword/katana, you also have Saki who mixes sword techniques with close-combat wrestling and ’assassination’ moves, plus Annna (that’s not a typo) whose melee attacks are near useless but she has quite the variety of guns and explosives. Each character is better in certain situations, and you can either ’tag team’ between two in most stages, or play co-op to have both on the field at the same time.
While the acrobatic fighting is the main draw, it’s not the only one. There are a lot of things you can unlock, primarily new outfits for the characters. These all show varying amounts of skin, but I admit I didn’t feel like spending much time with it. More useful are various bracelets and other items that help your characters in actual gameplay, though sometimes it’s not obvious as to how to get them. Again, chalk it up to the packed in manual being nearly worthless... I had to look up a lot of this stuff in a guide online.
Strangely, the game and some of its documentation talk about downloadable content but it doesn’t seem to be available at the time of writing. There are mentions of new outfits and three new playable characters, but I can’t tell you anything about them; they simply weren’t there to be used during the review.
