Tycoon Online is described as a family friendly, competive, be your own entrepreneur based MMO. The game is free to play, browser based and does not require any downloads.
You compete by building a successful virtual company and attempt to scale the ranking lists to the top by the end of the round. There are two ranking lists in Tycoon Online and your goal is to climb them both. The S-rank (stock ranking) is won by the player making the smartest share purchases on the stock market. The C-rank (company rank) is won by the player who increases the value of his own company the most. To do well, you will need to build factories, produce and sell merchandise, trade with stocks, hire personnel and more to be successful.
As I mentioned before the game is played in rounds. Each round lasts for 70 days or 10 weeks. When the round is over the winners are decided and all players are awarded Tycoon Online Points (TOP), depending on how well they have done on both the S-rank and C-rank. From there the scores are added to a "Hall of Fame" which will show the highest scores throughout the history of the game. At the end of the round, the game will reset, and within a week or two a new round begins and everyone is back on equal footing.
Tycoon Online has been around in Sweden for a while, and has quite a following. Along with the original Swedish version it has been translated for the UK, Portugal, Turkey, Netherlands. The game was recently translated for a the US, using i$ as currency, which is the version, I have played for this review.
