OVERSPEED High Performance Street Racing Review
Posted by Petr TheLock Lochman, 137 days ago

Graphics 70%

Graphics is very difficult to judge for me, as my computer is nothing special, concerning graphics performance. I could play the game only with the resolution of 800x600, which in the 21st century is somewhat archaic, I know. But even with this resolution, the graphics is fine, no disturbing bugs were noticed. Only when my car crossed the road into the dirt next to it, you could see the land flat, the car didn’t change its performance much, no dust behind the car. This game’s graphics are nothing extraordinary, cool at some points but overall - average.

Sound 70%

Sound in Overspeed High Performance Street Racing is ok, placed in the right spots. Each car has a slightly different engine sound, only the horns are the same for all cars. Music is really great - some cool stuff playing in the background that makes you want to ride faster. Styles from hip hop (Drive! Drive!) to heavy rock.

Gameplay 60%

Concerning the gameplay, the first cars are difficult to handle, reacting slowly. It gets better as the game progresses and you change cars. Each time you change a car, it is stronger (at least at the numbers) but for good handling you need to upgrade it. The thing is that you can’t use other car’s upgrades (even those you don’t use with that car) for the new one.

Our Rating for OVERSPEED High Performance Street Racing Review
3.0
Replay
Gameplay isn’t well balanced and to play through again would be tiresome
7.0
Graphics
While good there are some minor problems and not a lot of depth to them. Plus limited resolutions are available.
7.0
Sound
Nothing spectacular for the cars but the music is quite good
6.0
Gameplay
Good but not overly engrossing, compelling or in any way original. Only one race mode really limits the game experience.
0.1
Multiplayer

6.7
Overall
It’s a decent game for the price but has limitations in all areas. If you want a quick, cheap racing game you might look at this but there might be others that are better.
