OVERSPEED High Performance Street Racing Review
Posted by Petr TheLock Lochman, 137 days ago

Controls/Interface 70%

Controls can be set as you wish. You can play on keyboard or gamepad (which does not vibrate when you hit something). You can choose manual/automatic transmission, you can set detail levels of video and sound.

Summary 67%

To sum up, the game is fun when you survive the first stage. You can’t expect anything extraordinary but if you like racing games, this can be another one into your collection. I’d just point out some drawbacks:

- small number of circuits (2 for stage 1, 3 for stage 2, 3 for stage 3, etc.), which are not even made different by changing the direction of the race

- no free-ride mode in the city

- only one kind of race - no drag, drift or sprint

- there are only imagined cars, no real marks (though they remind you of some of the existing)

As positive things I’d mention good music, and no bugs in the game. The program works with no problems.

Our Rating for OVERSPEED High Performance Street Racing Review
3.0
Replay
Gameplay isn’t well balanced and to play through again would be tiresome
7.0
Graphics
While good there are some minor problems and not a lot of depth to them. Plus limited resolutions are available.
7.0
Sound
Nothing spectacular for the cars but the music is quite good
6.0
Gameplay
Good but not overly engrossing, compelling or in any way original. Only one race mode really limits the game experience.
0.1
Multiplayer
N/A
6.7
Overall
It’s a decent game for the price but has limitations in all areas. If you want a quick, cheap racing game you might look at this but there might be others that are better.
