Borderlands – 2K’s Left Hook With more than 100,000 Guns
Posted by Christophor SuperGuido Rick, 127 days ago

This is not about dialog trees, it’s an action game

The RPG portion of the game means experience, leveling up, skills, character growth like better speed, strength, damage. Skills are bound to wetware, a cybernetic interface implanted in the characters, and when you level up you activate and upgrade skills. It’s a cool way to explain why the characters can actually do more as time progresses. It does not mean talking all the time, it means developing and growing your character and making him bigger and badder.

There are three classes in the game, soldier, hunter and siren. Think warrior, thief, magic-user in a sci-fi setting.

The game has weapon proficiencies which means when you first pick up a weapon you’re not very good with it but as time progresses and you use the gun you become more and more proficient with it. So that means you are better with it and can utilize it more efficiently, reload faster, shoot straighter or farther. You can find a weapon that you are unable to use because you do not have a high enough proficiency level. So you will need to find another weapon in the same class and use it until you can use the higher level weapon.

I’ve received word back from 2K Games about the guns:

There are more than 500,000 guns in Borderlands -
I think the last number was more than 650,000. But even that
number will never be 100% accurate.
