[GDN] Is there a heavy game industry presence in Sofia?
[HM] As the oldest game developer in Bulgaria, Haemimont Games has seen a lot of changes in the game business in Bulgaria. There has been considerable growth since the creation of the studio over 10 years ago.
Although there are some small independent game developers outside the capital, it is safe to say that Sofia is the hub of the game industry in Bulgaria. Currently there are several major game developers with offices in Sofia, as well as some independent projects.
[GDN] There are a lot of little things I saw in IR2 at Leipzig like the townspeople going about their lives, animals doing what animals do etc... what prompted this more involved look into the world than we saw in previous Imperium Romanum titles?
[HM] When we began work on Imperium Romanum 2 one of our goals was to make the simulation of the citizens and animals more interesting and varied.
Also the current day technology and the advancements in our own proprietary engine allow us to show more and better looking units in comparison to our previous games.
