Round 1: Graphics
Both games have their own style of visual appearance. EA Sports have gone for a typical over the top presentation style and graphics so rich that on occasion they’ll be known to slow and judder in the odd cut scene.
2K has always been on the catch-up side in this category, but this year it feels like they’ve opted for a bit of a trade off, with their optical offering being not so glitzy, but it IS very practical and solid. It reminds me of movie goers in the fact that some people love the big action movies with plenty of rich explosions and a plot written on the back of a postage stamp, while there are the more cosmopolitan types who’d rather watch something foreign and in black and white because it’s so “out there”.
It’s close, but here I’d have to say EA gets a lucky deflection off the post and in to score.
EA: 1
2K: 0
