While there may be a few new additions to the platforming, the combat is largely the same as the previous games: fun, easy, yet satisfying. The game does feature some new animations and the ability to grab enemies now, but anyone who has played any of the previous LEGO games should feel very familiar. LEGO: Batman could have done more to evolve the combat, such as introducing a button for blocking or dodging, but the simplistic combat feels right at home with the game. To help break up the pace of the combat, Traveller’s Tale has also included several driving sequences. Players will get to pilot the Batmobile, the Batboat, and the Batwing. These driving levels are a lot of fun but are hard to control.

While LEGO: Batman may be a fun game to play cooperatively it is an absolute drag to play by yourself. There’s just something about going through the campaign with a friend that makes it so likeable. And since the game doesn’t feature support over Xbox Live or PSN you’ll have to find a friend close by. All in all though, LEGO: Batman is another admirable title in the LEGO universe and should be another great game to play through with the family or with some friends.

Our Rating for LEGO Batman: The Videogame - Review
7.0
Replay
With tons of unlockables to buy and collect, there are plenty of reasons to stick around after you’ve gone through the game once.
7.8
Graphics
May not be as impressive other big-budget titles, but Lego: Batman creates a very stylized look of Gotham city in Lego form.
7.5
Sound
Does a great job of setting the tone of the environment for each level, and the sound effects used with Robin are hysterical.
6.0
Gameplay
There are a couple of new ways to solve puzzles, but the combat is in desperate need of an innovation.
0.1
Multiplayer
No excuse for not having online coop.
6.8
Overall
All in all though, LEGO: Batman is another admirable title in the LEGO universe and should be another great game to play through with the family or with some friends.
