A Stroke of Fate - Review

ShareThis
Posted by David Dr. Gonzo Griffiths,

The sounds of the era are abundant, the lovely mixture of wind and brass instruments control the mood wonderfully and without thrashing the music into your ears constantly it breaks the silence often enough to allow you to concentrate on the tasks at hand. A Stroke of Fate contains a truly splendid score which helps to create the feeling that you are in fact involved in a time of the past and an era that relied purely on the talent of a musician.

Though the orchestral soundtrack provided me with something to hum on my way to work, I was slightly disappointed that there was no voice acting.

Editor’s Note: Voice Acting was not included in this Alpha version but is planned for the final release. -CR

Your bid to change the course of history is an interesting combination of fact and twisted history, while I fear one or two will whisper concern over its originality, the foundation of the story is surrounded by the facts we have all come to know and learn through our lives and it’s something everyone should be able to relate to. It’s clear from the start that your objective is to rid the world of what was the most unique and estranged rulers to ever live and the compassion of a patriot will be pulled from the hearts of many in A Stroke Of Fate as you use your cunning detective skills to bring your character ever closer to his goal.

Our Rating for A Stroke of Fate - Review
6.8
Replay
It offers a great first run, but I feel only the bored and die hard fans will pick this one up after completion.
9.5
Graphics
Though not out of this world, the graphics are just amazing. Absolute perfection and truly beautiful to look at.
9.0
Sound
The music provides you with a brilliant atmosphere and historical feel. The later addition of voice acting will further improve the already well done sounds.
8.2
Gameplay
It’s far from revolutionary but sticking to the user friendly formula means you won’t have too many complaints about the way it plays.

Overall
A fantastic combination of beautiful visuals and orchestral wonder, along with its easy gameplay and educational storyline which is lined with humor gives you a truly excellent gaming experience.
