The puzzles that you come across are pretty simple they can however can be pretty difficult if you don’t look around or pay attention to the clues provided. They certainly challenged me and got me quite angry at the thought of not being able to do them. I mean the game looks as though its market group is between 5 and 10 and the graphics remind me of the game boy/DS version of Zelda or Pokémon.
Personally I don’t think the graphics (or lack of) really affected the game play, I think it adds to the charm of the game especially with the amount of color and detail in specific areas. Having to figure out where you’re supposed to be and what you need to be doing certainly keeps you engaged and I have to say
does make the game pretty fun. The only thing I couldn’t really cope with was the music as it was pretty basic and repetitive but playing with the sound down low didn’t really make much difference on the game play as it was still good enough to know where and what I was doing.
Another thing that was annoying was having the same conversations with shop keepers if you were looking for information about your quest even though the subtitles at the bottom would re-appear I just felt like I was wasting time by having repetitive conversations, and made them very annoying places to visit. The bakery especially so because that’s where the adventure began you need to go there quite often.
I really enjoyed playing this game, it certainly got me thinking and although I think it would be more playable on DS it’s not a bad attempt for a first game from Red Panda Games. I look forward to how they improve and provide new innovative game play that follows on from the challenging concepts of this.
