Another major feather in the cap of this game is the online section. Sure there’s the standard multiplayer mode, but it takes a back seat in favour of what you can do in the main map area. Drop in/drop out functionality allows for anyone to get stuck into the game with a friend and the ability to do whatever you want, WHENEVER you want is just truly impressive, as well as long overdue. It’s been something the games players have been asking for for so long, but to finally see it in the flesh and working so well is a joy. The full story mode can be played in co-op, as well as some activities and side quests and it makes for a rather enjoyable experience for all concerned and in a way sets a benchmark for other games in the genre to follow or try to attain.
Saints Row 2 delivers what is asked of it and much more. It may not be as graphically
intense as other things out there, but what it may lack in artistic impression it more than makes up for in it’s ability to not just make you smile, but laugh, sometimes a bit too loud. The fun factor has been added carefully and methodically, resulting in a game which is amazingly enjoyable. If I had to pick faults I’d say that the cars can sometimes be a little hit and miss with regards to handling, as well as the occasional glitch and screen problems, but they can’t take away from what is a high quality virtual playground which should be played by everyone who like their games to provide entertainment and value for money.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some flame induced quad driving to do. *grin*
