[GDN] Any chance of a co-op or online multiplayer title coming out of Soldak in the next couple years? How about a DoP world MMO?
It’s certainly possible. I would really like to see both our current games as multiplayer. Kivi would work really well as a co-op game. Depths of Peril, on the other hand, would be really cool as a more competitive game. A MMO would be pushing it though. I would much rather create games instead of creating an infrastructure capable of running an MMO.
[GDN] What IS the name of the world in DoP and Kivi’s? Does it have a name?
Well I don’t know about the world, but the main continent where everything has taken place so far is called Aleria.
[GDN] When you’re not programming, are you playing any game in particular? Is there a game that you all play together? Pinochle perhaps?
Lately, I have been playing some Age of Mythology. Yes, I know it came out many years ago. In general, I play lots of games. These days it’s more in the strategy or RPG genres. We have also recently started playing D&D (the books and dice kind) with the kids, which either makes me one of the coolest dads ever or the spawn of the devil depending on who you talk to. [laughs]
GDN would like to thank Steven for his time and insight into what’s happening at Soldak and we wish them continued success and look forward to their next title, whatever it may be.
