Spring into May with a bouquet of fresh new games to download to your Nintendo console. From now on, you can enjoy a mix of releases from the Wii Shop Channel and the Nintendo DSi Shop each Friday – so there’s always something for everyone!

First up this week is the WiiWare title BIT.TRIP BEAT, which brings some arcade action and rocking gameplay to the Wii, followed by that latest addition to Virtual Console - Galaxy Force II.

Two new Nintendo DSiWare titles have also been added to the Nintendo DSi Shop this week: A Little Bit of… Dr. Mario and A Little Bit of… Magic Made Fun: Funny Face. Look out for more titles in the A Little Bit of… series coming soon…

WiiWare - BIT.TRIP BEAT (Aksys Games, 600 Wii Points):

BIT.TRIP BEAT brings you retro arcade action, as you use the Wii Remote’s motion sensor to bounce beats in this rhythm game.

Retro visuals, classic gameplay, 4-player multiplayer, and an 8-bit soundtrack will get you in the zone and rock your world.  Pay attention, as you’ll come up against some big challenges. If you can stay cool as the difficulty increases, you’ll discover the beginnings of the BIT.TRIP saga...

Virtual Console - Galaxy Force ll (Sega, 800 Wii Points):

Galaxy Force II is an arcade style shooter which puts you in the cockpit of a TRX-5 Quasar. Fly through five different planets while taking on the enemy in environments that range from a peaceful garden, to lands made of fire and ice.

Fly low over each planet’s surface and engage enemy robots, ships, and turrets. Then destroy the alien stronghold by blowing up its control centre. It is your duty as part of the Galaxy Force to defend the solar system and repel the alien invasion!

Nintendo DSiWARE - A little bit of Dr. Mario (Nintendo, 500 DSi Points):

Dr. Mario is back, to cure your puzzle fever! A Little Bit of… Dr. Mario brings you this classic game in an easy-to-digest portable form for your Nintendo DSi!

Enjoy the original inspiration for Germ Buster (as seen in More Brain Training from Dr Kawashima). Simply defeat all the viruses in the bottle by lining up coloured capsules that match the colour of the viruses. Watch out, because if the bottle fills to the brim with capsules, it’s game over!

Choose Classic Mode to play solo, or battle against the computer in Vs CPU Mode in a race to clear all the viruses first. You can also set the number of viruses and game speed, to tune the difficulty level to your liking.

Nintendo DSiWARE - Magic Made Fun: Funny Face (Nintendo, 200 DSi Points):

Impress your friends with mesmerising magic using A Little Bit of… Magic Made Fun – a collection of easy-to-perform tricks that you can carry wherever you go!

Did you know that the Nintendo DSi system can read minds? Astound your audience with the Funny Face trick when the smiley face you sketch on the Touch Screen speaks the name of a secretly-chosen card. Only you will know its secret!

Also included is the bonus trick Vanishing Card. Picture one of the five random cards on the screen and the Nintendo DSi system will tell you which card you’re thinking of!

As the Wii Shop Channel is continually updated with exciting and refreshing games, make sure you keep checking the Channel and www.Wii.com for all the latest WiiWare and Virtual Console news and releases. Downloaded games can be saved to the Wii’s internal memory or SD card and added to the console’s Wii Menu or SD Card Menu allowing them to be easily accessed at any time.
