What makes Championship Manger 2010 Season Live so significant? Hasn’t this been done before with January updates?

Something like CM Season Live has never been done before in football management games,   the January updates of the past are something completely different.  CM Season Live™ offers users monthly opportunities to take on the same challenges faced by real world managers as they happen throughout the season.  In the past players would have simply received the latest player transfers but still started their game in July. Players now receive much more, including player transfers, major injuries, player ratings, bookings, results and competition standings and the ability to enter the game mid-season.  This really does offer players a different game experience compared to previous football management games.

How much does Championship Manger 2010 Season Live cost and what does this get you?

We’re still finalising the price for CM Season Live, but we expect it to be priced at around £5 for all 6 monthly updates. We will announce final pricing on our website at www.championshipmanager.co.uk but what players can be sure of is that they’ll be looking at less than a half time pint and pie at most football grounds. It will be great value for those looking to make the most of their game experience and get even closer to real world football management.

Will its addition affect the overall cost of the game?

Absolutely not, this will represent entirely additional and optional content.

What aspects of player and club statistics will be updated?

CM Season Live will update all the major bans and injuries for players across the 10 European countries included in the update. Players can also expect to see player ratings for each game along with goals scored, player appearances (including substitutions) and player transfers. Clubs will be updated with all their results from the season including progress in major competitions.

Can I continue to play Championship Manger 2010 without buying CM Season Live?

Of course, CM Season Live is optional and a way for players to take on different challenges within the world of Championship Manager. Players can still expect a great game including brand new features such as the Set-piece creator, Drill Training, Scouting Network and the 3D match engine.  Championship Manger 2010 offers players a great gaming experience with or without CM Season Live however, what you get with CM Season Live is the chance to take your game one step further and face real world managerial challenges.

Will there be a January Update for those who don’t buy CM Season Live?

There will be a February update available containing the January transfer window data, how exactly this will work is being investigated and we’ll announce details when we can.

Does this mean the end of seasonal releases of Championship Manager?

No, Championship Manager as a game is a separate entity that we will continue to work on and develop in the future. As mentioned previously what’s key for the franchise is quality and we will continue to work towards delivering consumers a quality game experience with new and innovative features.

Is CM Season Live exclusive to the PC version of the game?

Currently CM Season Live is just going to be available for the PC version of the game, but we’re keen not to rule out anything for the future.
