Firebrand Games has announced it is currently developing a Wii version of long-running racing series TrackMania.

The developer behind the successful DS editions of TrackMania and Race Driver GRID will be showing the game at GamesCom next week in the hopes of attracting a publisher, according to Eurogamer.

Studio boss Mark Greenshields said: “Firebrand has always strived to develop racing engines that make the current generation of machines do things that no-one thought possible 18 months ago.

“We altered people’s perception of just what the DS could do with Race Driver GRID and TrackMania DS, and TrackMania Wii is no less jaw-dropping.”

The TrackMania series is well known for its arcade racing style and extensive track builder. There has been no confirmation of which features will be in the Wii version.
