Today at the Unite conference,   Unity Technologies, the leading provider of the multi-platform game development platform for Web, PC, Mac, Wii and iPhone, announced the award winners of its third annual contest.  This year, there were 129 submissions, twice the number of submissions last year, spanning four categories: Best Overall, Best iPhone Game, Best Visual Design and Best Technical Achievement; prizes totaled $9,500.

"We’re continuing to see professional console-quality content as well as entries that are a little more experimental, a little more edgy and arty," said Nicholas Francis, Chief Creative  Officer at Unity Technologies. "It’s great that people are pushing this envelope a bit more, and for us that’s an exciting part of making a tool.  There is this box that we think people are going to  play in, and people just keep breaking out of that to make content that completely takes us by surprise."
