Legends of Norrath Deals Out Third Set
Posted by Spanner, 263 days ago Mar 10, 2008 05:25

Sony Online Entertainment (SOE)  announced at friday that Inquisitor, the third set for the popular online strategy game Legends of Norrath™ (LoN), is available for purchase via digital download at www.station.com, with localized versions for players in North America, France, Germany and the UK.  Based on the legendary MMOs EverQuest® (EQ) and EverQuest® II (EQII), Inquisitor expands upon the immersive Norrathian story arc, high-fantasy art style and thrilling gameplay found at the core of a complete online card gaming experience.

“The development team in Denver is extremely enthusiastic about the new gameplay and artwork that Inquisitor brings to the world of Norrath,” said Scott Martins, Director of Development, SOE-Denver. “With hundreds of new cards and more than 20 new loot items available for both EQ and EQII, the Inquisitor set will enable players to reinforce and expand upon their current strategies for casual play, in single-player scenarios and during team-based raids.”

For fans of the LoN storyline, Inquisitor’s back story enriches a fluid and compelling gameplay experience, expands upon multiplayer functionality and includes the ability to battle alongside Cyndra the Elven Scout, Eluviel the Dark Priest and other distinguished LoN heroes for the first time!

Developed at SOE’s Denver studio, Legends of Norrath is the only online trading card game based on and playable from within SOE’s popular EverQuest and EverQuest II MMOs, as well as from a free stand-alone client using a free SOE Station Account ID (available at www.station.com).  Players can challenge opponents on their game server and across other EQ and EQII servers.

Inquisitor’s features include:

New Strategies and Gameplay – Inquisitor adds over 250 new astonishingly beautiful cards! Get all 210 base set cards, four (4) starter decks featuring sixteen (16) new quests, ten (10) scenario rewards and spectacular new promotional cards. Explore new unit types, legends, keywords and classes for your favorite EQ and EQII classes archetypes, with the introduction of Monks, Enchanters, Inquisitors and Bards!

Mounts, Baubles and Potions – Inquisitor features over 20 new loot items each for EverQuest and EverQuest II for your EQ or EQII characters.

Free New Content – SOE is providing all registered users even more free content and bonus features in the game client, including ten (10) new scenarios that tell the tale of Inquisitor and a brand new raid. Sign up now at www.station.com to gain access to these new upgrades.

New Ways to Team Up – New updates to guild functionality including guild chat, guild messaging and the ability to create officers and manage members, allows you to more easily grab your closest friends to take down powerful raid bosses. Inquisitor features a four-player raid where you and three of your friends can take down the Brood of Di’zok – the Royal Family of Sarnaks in the castle of Chardok.

Inquisitor cards will be available via digital download from SOE’s Station Store in both 58-card digital starter decks for £5.99 (plus any applicable taxes) and 15-card digital booster packs for £1.99 (plus any applicable taxes).

To get started, players can <download the client> for free, test their skills 24 hours a day against AI and real opponents, and then head over to the tournament lobby to compete.  Tournament eligibility limited and subject to official rules.  Residents of certain territories are ineligible to participate in LoN tournament play. Please see the <EULA> for details. For a schedule of events, rules and further details see the <LoN Events Page> or the <LoN Tournaments webpage>.  For more information on Legends of Norrath, visit the website at www.legendsofnorrath.com.
