Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2 Innocent Sin Launch Copies Get Soundtrack

ATLUS today revealed that each and every launch copy of the highly anticipated Shin Megami Tensei: Persona2: Innocent Sin for PSP--the one entry in the publisher’s acclaimed Persona series of roleplaying games never to be released outside of Japan--will include a free mini-soundtrack CD featuring 10 tracks from the game’s musical score.

Persona 2 with soundtrack

Complementing its dark, sinister narrative, Innocent Sin’s music is appropriately moody and haunting.  Shoji Meguro, the composer responsible for the critically acclaimed music found in Persona 3 FES, Persona 4, and the critically acclaimed new release Catherine, has completely redone the soundtrack for the PSP system remaster, taking advantage of superior audio technology without compromising the feel and intensity of the score.  As a nod to the fact that fans have the in-game option to toggle between the original soundtrack and the new version, the bonus disc’s 10 tracks fall into multiple categories: songs remixed specifically for the new PSP system release; tracks directly from the original PlayStation game; tracks specially arranged for this bonus disc; and a couple songs that do not appear in the game.  The bonus Innocent Sin soundtrack CD will be bundled with the game inside a collectible outer box, but fans are still strongly urged to pre-order as supplies will be limited.

Over 12 years in the making, the official localization of Innocent Sin provides patient fans with the other side of the Persona 2 arc, a dark adventure about high school students who find their reality being twisted by rumors, and who must draw on their inner strengths, their Personas, to bring back order.  Taking advantage of PSP system’s 16:9 aspect ratio, higher resolution display, superior audio, and increased horsepower, this remastered version of one of the pinnacles of ATLUS’ flagship Shin Megami Tensei franchise delivers the game in style with a sleek new interface, new sidequests in the Climax Theater, and the player’s choice of the fully remixed or original soundtrack.

SMT: Persona 2: Innocent Sin for PSP system is currently scheduled to release in North America this Fall.  For more info, visit the official website at http://www.atlus.com/persona2.
