Enemy Creatures Swarm New York in Prototype 2, New Details and Art

The following outlines the creatures ‘at large’ in New York Zero, ready to challenge James Heller at every turn.  It seems referring to ‘the mean streets of New York’ has never been so apt...

Infected

Some Infected from Prototype 2

The infected, or ‘living dead’ as they are perhaps better known are those humans that haven’t been killed by the virus. The victim awakes from their unconscious state with the sole aim to kill and consume any organism living or dead. Though they may still look human in appearance, don’t be fooled as they have been taken over by animal instinct to kill.

Infected in prototype 2

Brawler

The prototype 2 brawler

Brawler by name, brawler by nature. Born from Blacklight pustules which are human sized wombs, Brawlers come into the world fully formed and ready to fight. Their flesh is pinkish and hairless in appearance and glowing with Blacklight-infused muscle fibre and they stalk the city with razor sharp, foot-long claws looking for flesh to devour. They run quickly, jump high and are incredibly strong which means they can keep up with a moving vehicle just as easily as they could knock it over.  Warning; these creatures can sustain a large amount of damage before dying.

Flyers

infected flyer

While a Brawler can get you on the ground, a Flyer can pounce on you from the sky. Huge vulture-like creatures with scraggly feathers and gnarled faces, they will openly attack anything or anyone in their way. Flyers began to appear after the second outbreak though their exact origins are unknown. They are one of only two Blacklight monsters that do not have human physiology and like to flock en mass. A Flyer’s wingspan is approximately two metres, making them just as powerful as any monster on the ground. Better move quickly as their favourite method of attack is the high speed dive bomb.

Hydras

the hydra

Nowhere is safe with Brawlers attacking from ground level, Flyers in the sky and now even underground opposition in the form of Hydras.  Hydras are tentacles that fester under the ground and although it is known where they came from, speculation suggests they are an extension of the biomass that brought on the virus. These six feet wide red, glowing tapered worms can erupt from the ground at any moment taking on a tank, building or human being. They burst from the earth to reveal a huge mouth with two mandibles that split to reveal a gigantic tongue that can devour anything it chooses.

 Juggernauts

the juggernaut in game

Grey skinned with flesh as almost as hard as rock, Juggernauts live up to their reputation. These creatures may be slow moving but this should not induce a false sense of security – they are powerful and armoured.  Similar in size to the average tank and equipped with huge, heavy fists that they use to beat their chosen victim into submission. These qualities mean they can deflect almost any attack making them pretty much unbeatable.
