Mr. Jonathan Flesher, VP of business and development, left Zynga, Inc. (NASDAQ:ZNGA). The news broke on November 19, even though sources claim that Mr. Flesher departed the company as early as Nov 9.

Flesher was responsible for a lot of important things that happened in ZNGA but his work remained mostly behind the scenes. He worked on partnership deals with giants such as Yahoo, Google and AOL and secured in-game and marketing deals with superstars Lady Gaga and Snoop Dogg.

Mr. Flesher is joining a long queue of people abandoning Zynga’s ship. In October ZNGA lost their Zynga Poker general manager, Laurence Toney, then earlier this November Zynga’s CFO, Dave Wehner, left the company.

ZNGA is also losing active users virtually across the board. Farmville 2 alone lost over 4 million monthly active users since November 1, according to charted data from appdata.com. The company has failed to produce a big hit recently and it faces the further challenge of developing games and applications for mobile platforms.

In yesterday’s trading Zynga closed up a little over 2%, at $2.25 per share at the bell. The company has lost nearly 80% of its share price since the initial public offering in December 2011.
