The new Tegra 4 SoC by NVidia Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) seems to be the talk of the town among mobile enthusiasts. Recent benchmarks released by NVidia and presented before the media were quite impressive and going by the numbers the Tegra 4 is probably the fastest mobile chip in the world.

Qualcomm did not fail to retort to this and stated they were not afraid of NVidia, adding to this the bold claim that their Snapdragon 800 can “easily” beat the Tegra 4 due to its higher level of integration and its on-die LTE modem - a bold claim, considering the currently available benchmark charts and numbers.

NVidia's other new bet in the world of mobile is their Shield hand-held, presented at the CES in January. The new device runs on the Tegra 4 as well and offers some interesting capabilities. In addition to running Android games, perhaps the most interesting feature of the Shield is the ability to stream PC games in your home from your desktop tower to the device itself or a TV.

NVidia's stock has been a bit twitchy in February but has recouped most of the dip that happened in the first weeks of the first month of 2013 when the price dipped below $12.00 per share.
