ROCCAT Kone Goes Gold
Posted by Wade "TNT" Hinkle, 156 days ago Jul 4, 2008 08:46

The ROCCAT Kone Gaming Mouse is about to go into production and the Hamburg-based manufacturer ROCCAT is calling on the community to take part in the Kone Betaboy initiative. Up to now only known about by gaming developers, ROCCAT is enabling computer gamers worldwide to put the first ever ROCCAT mouse through its final stage of testing and to take part in its fine-tuning.

Gamers can apply now at the ROCCAT website by registering some details about themselves including what technical equipment they have and what they like playing. The lucky Betaboys who get selected will receive a ROCCAT Kone Gaming Mouse as well as the final version of the driver software and will be tasked with thoroughly checking and verifying the functionality and reliability of the mouse. As a reward, the Betaboys will get a ROCCAT Kone Gaming Mouse from the first production run.

René Korte, Managing Director of ROCCAT Studios Hamburg: “As the first manufacturer of gaming equipment in the world to do so, we are daring to allow the wider community to take part in the development of our products.

Only this way can you ensure that the countless different PC configurations, mousepads and operating systems are tested in the most diverse way possible.

We mainly work very intensively with lots of gamers. The close link with our base is extremely important to us as they represent the basis for products that are perfectly tailored to meet the needs of gamers. The Betaboy initiative now gives us the opportunity not just to involve pro-gamers in the development, but also to give a section of the community a chance to test our products and improve them further. I’m really looking forward to the result!”
