Online social gaming company GXStudios, creator of GoCrossCampus, recently took another step to establish its position as a leading force in the team-based gaming world, hiring Erik Semmelhack as Executive Vice President in charge of Sales and Partnerships.

"We are thrilled to have Erik on board. He brings incredible enthusiasm and drive to his position, and we are excited to begin working with partners to build our company and reach new markets," stated Brad Hargreaves, President and CEO of GXStudios. "GXStudios is really doing something new and unique, combining the passion of casual gaming with the engaged relevance of social networking," says Semmelhack. "Marketers are always looking for the qualified target and this is it."

Most recently, Erik co-founded Major League Gaming (MLG) and led its rapid market development as EVP Global Sales and Partnerships. In less than four years he created and sold more large-scale integrated media deals around this youth focused emerging entertainment space than any other individual or group in the market.

"The fact that the Company has attracted someone of Erik’s caliber is a great endorsement of both GXC and the business plan it is pursuing. With his years of experience at the intersection of advertising, digital media and video games, Erik will help GXC build upon its growing success" says Dan Googel, Principal at Easton Capital. Easton, along the WGI Group, led an investment in GXStudios in late 2007.

In his new role with GXStudios, Erik will build new revenue streams through sponsorships, advertising and content sales. Since launching in late 2007, GoCrossCampus has brought its event-style online game to almost 40 campuses around the world, including colleges in Mexico and India.

In addition, GXStudios will release an enterprise-level edition of their software this summer as an educational tool, with specific applications to corporate teambuilding and leadership training.

This summer, the company plans to launch a software project code-named Longbow, which will expand the GoCrossCampus affinity gaming platform and facilitate rapid expansion in the fall.
