I know its late on a Saturday night, but I feel this is important enough to post tonight.
MTV Games, Harmonix and PAX have come together and have compiled a PAX 2008 Collection, to launch on September 2nd. All proceeds from the sale of this pack between the launch date and holiday season will be donated to the Child’s Play Charity organization. The Pax 2008 Collection will be available for download from Xbox Live and Playstation Network.
The pack includes "Skullcrusher Mountain" by Jonathan Coulton, the story of a misunderstood genius and the woman he attempts to woo with monstrous creations like a half-monkey, half-pony, "Livin’ on the Corner of Dude and Catastrophe" by MC Frontalot, Inspired by the award-winning webcomic "Achewood" and featuring Brad Sucks, and finally "Shhh...." by Darkest of the Hillside Thickets, a previously unreleased track that the nerd rockers have brought exclusively to Rock Band. All three tracks utilize the original master recordings.
The collection will be available on Xbox Live September 2nd, Playstation Network, September 4th, and will cost $.99 (60 MS Points) for each track or $2.99 (240 MS Points) for all three.
Child’s Play is an organization started in 2003 where over 100,000 gamers have banded together and have raised over $3 Million in donations of toys, games, videos, books, and even cash for sick children in Children’s Hospitals across the USA and world.
GDN is a supporter of Child’s Play and appreciates the work they are doing, and we ask that all our readers buy at least one track, and know that there is a child somewhere in a hospital today, who thanks you. (So do we)
