Phoenix Wright, Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations European release date announced

The most famous lawyer in the games industry (now Jack Thompson’s been struck off, anyway) is set to return to Europe in his latest courtroom action/drama, Trials and Tribulations on October 3rd, Nintendo announced today.

The twist in this latest Ace Attorney game? Players won’t only get to play as Phoenix Wright. Revealing elements of Phoenix’s past through his mentor Mia Fey, you’ll be invited to step into her shoes and head back in time to discover how she first encountered the plucky Phoenix before he even thought about becoming a lawyer; discovering a whole new side to Phoenix Wright as his past is revealed.

Fans that have followed the series will be pleased to encounter favourite characters, such as Maya Fey and Detective Gumshoe, once again as they complete Phoenix Wright’s story and tie up all loose ends!

With each case composed of two phases - detective work followed by a trip to the courtroom - prepare for many twists and turns; especially from the witnesses. During your search of the various crime scenes you’ll be required to collect as many testimonies and as much evidence as possible in your court record to use when witnesses hit the stand. Even make use of the Magatama, a special item used to break Psyche Locks, to push the character to tell the truth. When you head into the courtroom, the witness may try and change their story. As soon as you spot something that doesn’t quite add up in a testimony, you can stop them in their tracks by using the touch screen or shouting ‘Objection!’ into the Nintendo DS’s microphone. Keep checking back for more Phoenix Wright news as it happens, and for a full GDN review as we put Phoenix on the stand.
