Having sold over 370 million records worldwide, and currently enjoying vicarious success through the Mamma Mia! stage play and movie adaptation, it now looks like ABBA is about to be digitised.

Sony has announced that the SingStar franchise will make money, money, money this Christmas with a classic console karaoke compilation of the Swedish megastar quintet’s greatest hits. What with SingStar being strictly a Sony affair, the game will only be available on the PlayStation 2 and 3 formats.

All in all, this isn’t just an entertaining concept, but a practical one too. You don’t have to be a fan of ABBA to know the words of their songs by heart, which have been karaoke favourites the world over for quite some time anyway.
