In a recent interview with Venturebeat, Microsoft games tester Robert Delaware is facing possible court action from his former employers VMC (which tests games for Microsoft) and the gaming giant itself after speaking publically about his experiences with the Xbox 360 hardware failures.

Delaware, who was testing around the time of the console’s launch, spoke candidly about the problems many Xbox Live updates embedded in commercially released games could turn the consoles into "worthless hulks". When quizzed about his firing and possible legal action for breach of non-disclosure agreements, Delaware didn’t seem at all concerned, saying:

"I don’t regret it. I’ll fight it. If they want to come after me, bring it on.”

Apparently the initial reaction to his interview at VMC was quite positive for several days, until word began to filter down and the HR department gave him his marching orders - presumably after pressure from the game company. But Delaware, supported by the majority of gamers out there (and particularly those who’ve experience, first hand, the problems the games tester was talking about) isn’t bending under the strain of legal posturing.

“Rock and roll," he told his interviewer, Dean Takahashi. "It feels good. It was the moral thing to do.”
