One of the things you can always count on from Bungie is an interesting way of promoting their projects. The new title, whatever it may be, is no exception as they have posted 2 pieces of ’communications’  on their site that must pertain to the new game:

• Pardon Our Dust
• Keep it Clean

If you were to analyze the data in them it doesn’t seem to me like Halo 4. In fact it doesn’t seem like Halo at all. At the very beginning of the ’transcripts’ one can clearly see

Not exactly HALO language is it? Sure it’s military in nature but Naval Intelligence? It could be space-based naval operations sure that’s possible. But I don’t think so

UNSC - United Nations Security Council? Maybe.

So that might mean it’s a modern day or near future scenario. From some of the other things in the posts it looks like it will definitely be either a shooter or something like an RTS or maybe a squad-based mix like Raven Squad.
