According to the latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine, Famitsu, the Wii version of the underground, undead cult hit, Dead Rising, is currently looking at a February 2009 release date. Naturally, this news is related to the Japanese launch, but considering this was a game designed specifically to appeal to the Western markets (not unlike Donkey Kong was, all those years ago), Capcom should hopefully ensure we all get our motion-controlled flesh feast in good time.

There’s a lot of consternation surrounding the Wii’s ability (or inability, I suppose) to display the hordes of required zombies to make the game the equal of the awesome Xbox 360 version, so we can only hope the extra dimension the Nintendo console boasts in terms of controls makes up the difference. Either way, GDN is incredibly excited about the impending zombie holocaust, so watch this space.
