Merscom announced today’s release of National Geographic Games’ Herod’s Lost Tomb, inspired by the upcoming television event on the National Geographic Channel (NGC), which has an air date of November 23, 2008.

In the television event, NGC brings you what may be the greatest archaeological discovery since the Dead Sea Scrolls. But will the evidence come up short in the quest for Herod’s lost tomb? Tune in to find out.

National Geographic Games’ Herod’s Lost Tomb is an exciting hidden-object game that takes the player on an archaeological journey of Kind Herod the Great. It gives players an opportunity to experience an exciting, real-life archaeological adventure! Herod’s Lost Tomb features stunning, world-famous photography from National Geographic combined with an engaging story where the player follows the life and death of one of the most famous rulers of the ancient Middle East, King Herod of Judea! The game’s authentic content is vetted by NatGeo researchers and historians and consists of 16 environments and 5 mini-games.

The first casual game based on a major television event, National Geographic Games’ Herod’s Lost Tomb features:
  •  Exciting plot and storyline inspired by the major TV event airing November 23 on the National Geographic Channel
  •  Exciting never before seen show footage
  •  Voice overs included throughout the game
  •  Beautiful and realistic visual style that conveys the ancient Middle East setting
  •  Multiple mini-games
  •  Over one thousand objects to discover

“We are incredibly excited about the opportunity to work with National Geographic,” said Lloyd Melnick, Merscom’s Chief Customer Officer,” their photo library allowed us to create a hidden object game that is incredibly beautiful, something never seen before in the casual game space.”
