The United Kingdom eSports Association (UKeSA), the official governing body for competitive gaming in the UK, today announced a sponsorship deal with leading technology provider, DellTM, as the Hardware Sponsor for the first national videogames tournament UKeSA Season One starting in mid February across the United Kingdom.

Dell, the number one PC supplier in the US, and second-largest worldwide, has a broad range of consumer products including high-end gaming desktops and laptops under the XPS and Alienware brands. Designed for the highest performance, both brands offer leading technology for the demanding gamer or enthusiast with an innovative industrial design.

“Competitive gaming is gathering momentum, particularly in the UK,” said David Clifton, Director of Consumer Marketing, Dell Europe, “UKeSA have put in place the foundation and growth structure that will feed that momentum, reaching out to all British eSports hopefuls. Dell is delighted to support the UKeSA at such a significant milestone for UK gaming.”

“Dell’s superb range of gaming hardware is synonymous with eSports, so for UKeSA they are the ideal partner,” Ray Mia, Chief Executive of UKeSA said today. “Having the recognition of such a world famous brand quantifies the significance of what’s happening to competitive gaming in the UK, and indeed on the larger European stage. These are exciting times.”

Season One for the 2009 UKeSA Dell Premiership, Championship and Open Divisions will begin on 16th February and will be featured online (IPTV/VOD) and in print. The professional levels will also have significant coverage on television, with events culminating at a Gaming Exhibition in London in April 2009. More details on the Gaming Exhibition will be announced shortly.
