Gamers Daily News is proud to present to you an exclusive interview, screenshots and some concept art for the upcoming online Street Soccer game Kickster which is currently in Alpha. Antonio Wronski, Community-Manager at Frogster Interactive Pictures sat down and answered a ton of questions for us to give you exclusive insight into Kickster.
[GDN] How many stadiums are there and how were the locations chosen?
[AW Frogster] At the moment we have five different courts to play on. They come in three different sizes: medium, small and large. This will help finding the best "battlefield"
for each individual preferences and likings. Small courts are for quick, fast-paced and action packed games, bigger courts are for more strategic and balanced gameplay. All courts are urban locations, like underground stations, back alleys or warehouses. The choice of these mainly derived from the fact that this is not a serious football simulation, but rather a freestyle soccer game that quickly can be picked up and played without having to learn myriads of different control schemes.
[GDN] What was the thinking behind only 2v2 and 3v3 games? Is it to limit the network usage or just for style of the game?
[AW Frogster] As mentioned before, Kickster is an action soccer game. Having eleven players on the courts might quickly end up being quite hectic. And - as you only control one player at a time - players might be left doing nothing for some time, if they chose playing on a defensive position. With up to six human players on the court, everyone has to stay focused and act according to his personal class (position). By the way, Kickster has no computer controlled players that can be added. Artificial Intelligence is always dumber than human opponents and therefore only human teammates can play each other.
